This is where the real intense workload begins. It also happens to be
the part that will also be the most fun.
Recently, I've been discussing how working on a production is the
equivalent of locking yourself into an alternative reality. You remove
yourself from the real world, don't have a clue what is happening in
the news nor do you have time to watch TV or films.
Instead, all your effort, thoughts and energy go into the production.
I've even been known to dream about rehearsals (as I did last night) -
not even my subconious mind can escape the experience.
But it's this process, mentally getting into the world of the
production, that helps create real and engaging theatre. If you can
beleive in what you are doing, the truth and integrity of the story,
then the audience will feel it too.
What is your opinion on rehearsals processes? Are you keen to know
what lies behind closed doors?
