Geordie

Half way through week 2 of rehearsals for "Geordie" now and it's going
well. Act 1 is blocked and Act 2 is in progress.

I've been involved in the development of "Geordie" since it's workshop
development beginning in Easter 2005, more development projects
throughout 2005 followed by the World Premier in New York in 2006 and
the UK premier which shortly followed.
Being involved in this new production is again a new experience,
getting to hear a new group of fresh, young people discover the text,
songs and dances for the first time is truely refreshing!
The story of Geordie, based on the book by David Walker, is about a
young boy in 1940s Perthshire who was bullied for his small size, he
then takes up a bodybuilding corespondencr course and goes onto
represent Britain in Olympic Games!

Rehearsals will enter a new phase as of next week when our final 14
cast members arrive (with 10 days until opening)

I'll do my best to update over the next few weeks.
